Seeking for an adventure, entertainment and an excitement after weeks of studying for your mid-year exams? I recommend a suitable place for you and your family to occupy your june holidays. No other than Sunway Lagoon!

Located in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, Sunway Lagoon is a place where you would not want to miss. Even though I have been to Sunway Lagoon for 3 times, i certainly want to go there again! It is a themed resort with a shopping mall just right next door.

Sunway Lagoon is a theme park which includes dry and wet parks. Try out the exhilarating rides such as "the vodoo adventure river" or splash your way into the "waters of africa". You also would not want to miss the "wild wild west" which provides fun rides for you and your family.

I am sure your trip to Sunway Lagoon will be a satisfying one!

At last the late nights, the 14 hour routine of study daily, the "no TV, no chit chat" regulations in preparation for the Mid Year Exams are over! My anticipation for the June holidays grows as each day comes to pass. An exhiliarating series of activities are already in store for my month long vacation.
The first week of June will be given to school. Argh. Anyway... It's to better prepare us for school reopening. I plan to do most of my revision in the first week too. To catch up and really understand concepts that I'd failed to grasp in the first semester.
Camps. I'll be attending 3 camps in June altogether. How very exciting and tiring it all sounds right? Heh heh. The first of all will be my CCA camp which will last from 5th to 7th June. I'm looking forward to it as it'll be a good time to truly indulge in the arts after half a semester of a life without literature and art. ^.^ I do hope it'll be a better camp than the one I attended last December. the last camp was rather boring! We had to stay in the classroom for around 9 hours, from 10 till evening! Imagine, how very tiring it could get. Ahhh... Maybe have some outdoor activities..? Heeh... talking about drama, I have a dream. I have all along wanted to act as a woman of the 1950s. Those olden Singapore times, a samsui woman, a tai tai, any character that relates to olden Singapore. This relates to one place of my interest, that is Chinatown. I love the attitude which the place exudes. A modern yet still relatively traditional area. However nicely renovated it is, I dislike the fact that almost everything is revamped.
Another place of interest will be Pulua Ubin in the dark. Often, we hear of the haunted tales and souls that linger about the dense forests of the island. Why don't we relieve ourselves of such unproven myths and truly enjoy the beautiful night life of the island? There are many things to admire of Pulau Ubin at night. As you stroll through the leaf scattered tracks of Ubin island in teh dark, you get to enjoy a brand new sensation. Fresh air, crickets singing which amplify all trhough teh woods, and the occasional croack of a toad. All these, on some evenings, you may even get to hear a man chanting. Fear not this monotonous chant. It is coming from Malaysia and they're a part of rites that Malaysians perform every now and then. All these, I got to experience during a camp in Ubin Island in March. I yearn for the thrilling night walk again and am looking forward to my upcoming camp in Ubin during the school holidays!
Besides attending camps, learning from experiences, the holiday's going to be great for me! As I've brainstormed on the possible outings I can go with my friends.
I'm going to check out the Jurong East swimming complex where there's a fantastic slide ride with my friends. Also in line are visits to Sentosa for a really relaxing beach tan, to the park for a healthy exercise and picnic, to teh bowling centre for some recreation, to indulge in art and craft, to tutor primary school children in their studies and many more! Most importantly, sleep to the maximum!
Inconclusion, the June holidays are planned creatively for me and I'm definitely not going to be a couch potato in front of the televsion set at home! Till school reopens, see you!

At a loss of where to go to during the June school holidays? Well, why not pester your parents to take you to Hong Kong? I am very sure you yearn to take a breather especially after all those days of toiling hard for the Mid-year Examinations!

After being in Hong Kong during the month of December last year, I swore to myself that i will definitely visit Hong Kong again. I am not shy to admit that I have seriously fallen in love with Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, I can assure you that there are a million and one things for you to engage yourself with. In addition, there are also countless of interesting places in Hong Kong you can visit.

For those of you shopaholics out there, Ladies Market and Stanley Market are the places to be. If you think that Ladies Market and Stanley Market are your typical kind of markets where you can only find fruits and vegetables, YOU ARE WRONG! In fact, there is much more to that! These Markets actually offer everything from casual clothing, silk garments, Chinese calligraphy, costume jewellery, uniques souvenirs and so on. The best part is you can even bargain with the shop-owners! Even just walking through the street Markets leaves an indelible mark in your mind!

For all you sports enthusiasts out there, why not head down for Fa Yuen Street? Fa Yuen Street is one of the best places to find authentic, cool and trendy sports shoes of all brands. You will definitely be spoilt for choice with the wide range of attractive shoe designs to choose from! Converse. Adidas. Nike. Vans. Is this enough to start you drooling or what?

How about a night stroll with your loved one along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront? Soothing classical music accompanied by the sound of the salty seawater crashing against land can be clearly heard. Speedboats and ferries transporting passengers and tourists to and fro zoom past you. What I found most special about this place is indeed the chance for you to get a close-up view of the newly-erected bronze statue of the legendary action star Bruce Lee. Besides that, you will be able to capture shots of handprints of many celebrities carved neatly on the pavement such as Jackie Chan and Jet Li! While enjoying the cool see breeze, you can also get a bird's eye view of the city. You will definitely be awed and mesmerised by the beautifully lit-up towering buildings located across you and by the waterfront. It was simply SPECTACULAR!

One of the new attractions you must go to is the Hong Kong Disneyland! Despite all the recent "boo-boos" made in the newspapers recently about the poor service of the staff of Hong Kong Disneyland, personally, they left me a good impression of their work attitude. To me, they never fail to deliver a smile to the tourists of Disneyland although they have to constantly put up with grouchy and impatient tourists ( I am NOT one of them!). Anyway, Disneyland was simply MAGNIFICENT! I loved every millisecond of it while I was letting my hair down at Disneyland. Believe it or not but I managed to get a picture taken with the infamous Donald Duck after waiting patiently for nearly an hour! I strongly recommend you to go for the thrilling roller-coaster ride "Space Mountain" and a hilarious 3D Mickey Mouse show. What I enjoyed most was actually the Disney Parade! Familiar cartoon characters such as Winnie the Pooh (my favourite!), Lilo and Stitch, Snow White, Cinderella, Little Mermaid were shaking hands with the more fortunate tourists standing at the front. There was even a military band in a white and red uniform marching while playing their instruments with pride. The loud music the band played actually made me more enthusiastic and created such a joyous and merry atmosphere! Have i already mentioned my love for Disneyland?

That's all people! If you want to know more about my experiences in Hong Kong, I will be immensely pleased and euphoric to share with you my bittersweet memories.

Hong Kong. A bustling city life. A shopping haven. A place to be.

Fairuz Atiqah. =)
